BREAKING: Sweden reports first case of monkeypox
This comes after the disease have appeared in several other European countries over the last few days.
Just as countries were beginning to remove restrictions gradually, now there have been several reported cases of monkeypox across Europe, a very unpleasant disease.
Yesterday it was reported that Spain and Portugal have over 40 possible and confirmed cases of the disease, meanwhile Britain is now up to 9 cases. The first confirmed case in the USA was also reported in a person that had traveled to Canada.
Now Sweden has also reported it’s first case as it appears to be spreading more. The Swedish health authorities are now demanding the government to classify it as a ”disease dangerous to the public”, something that covid used to be designated as up until the 1st of April in Sweden.
The government has responded saying they will make a decision ”quickly”.
Spanish health authorities have already warned of a possible outbreak of the disease.
In Britain, authorities say that several of the monkeypox infections in the country had no known links to other confirmed patients, which suggest that there may be multiple chains of transmission already happening.
Norwegian health authorities are warning that the disease will likely come to Norway as well.
”It is unusual with so many cases in Europe, and we have to count on that there will be cases in Norway as well” said Siri Laura Feruglio at the Norwegian health institute.
What is monkeypox?
It is a relative of smallpox, the disease that was eradicated in 1980. However, it is less transmissible, causes milder symptoms and is less deadly than smallpox. Outbreaks have primarily been in Africa, and not in Europe.
As with smallpox, people with monkeypox get the characteristic blister rash on their body.
The fatality rate varies depending on the strain of the virus. Patients that were infected in England got a version of the virus that health officials say has a case fatality rate of about 1%. However, depending on the strain, the case fatality rate can be over 10%.
So what will happen now?
Are we going to see massive restrictions and lockdowns again? It is simply to early to know what they are going to do, but in Norway they are already talking about the fact that they have vaccines for it. Will we get a monkeypox passport this time?
Countries have barely begun easing restrictions from covid then this happens...
One thing that isn’t talked about in media is that in just a few days, the WHO is holding a large meeting in Geneva with all of the worlds countries invited (except Taiwan, because China). On the agenda is a “pandemic accord” which would give the WHO more powers in cases of future pandemics.

Just as soon as countries begin easing covid restrictions, we suddenly get outbreaks of monkeypox in Europe. Sigh.
Somewhere between 3 months and 1 year ago I already read on Twitter that a pox variant would be “released” as part of the WEF-agenda. World leaders and gouvernements probably already know this. So this comes as no surprise to me. It is no coincidence that this happens about the same time as the WHO pandemic treaty is signed.
