Digital currency can be turned off for a person who has, what the government considers, a bad social score (i.e. criticizes government policy). Digital currency is a means of social control. Canada used it against the truckers and their supporters for their peaceful protests against lockdowns.

The whole point with the cashless society is that the state can control dissidents. Especially CBDCs is a very bad idea.

hopefully the beginning of a wider trend. the more populist parties throughout Europe are put in power, the more I think we are going to see this. Trump has promised to sign legislation preventing a CBDC if he's elected
