Your final word here, William, should make Martin assess his disturbing take on biblical things. It has been said that anyone can find a line of Scripture to support whatever position they wish. But, Scripture is meant to have an overbearing message of goodness, self-respect, and that our own worthiness is found as followers of Jesus. We are not supposed to find a line that we can interpret to support waywardness. Scripture is the Word, the Word is God (John), and in these writings we get to know Who God is. You are correct: as followers of Jacob/Israel, we travel in a godly path that will never converge with those who have no inheritance in the Kingdom of Heaven. Those who are descendants of Ishmael can choose the righteous path through study and observation. Christianity has no desire for vengeance but it’s very hard to know that there is “religion” out there who desires our deaths. Martin is just confused and wrong. At first, I thought he might be a Messianic Christian, but no, he’s definitely searching among those who do not believe in the one, true God or as Christians believe, in a Triune God.
