it appears the Schengen Agreement is dead. my expectation is that every western nation is going to alter their policy so there is No asylum available to anyone, anywhere, at least for a period of time. Until illegal immigrants are returned to their nations of origin, countries are going to close their borders.

This is an example of giving an inch and taking a mile. Being so open-minded and brainwashed by utopic idea that you become a doormat. It's a nice thought to open your doors to help those in need but you have to be able to use logical thinking processes to ask the "what issues could This propose?".....no forethought to the what ifs resulted in chaos. The adults are re-entering the room.

A stranger should be a little strange. When anyone new comes into our life, we should be circumspect about what we share/give. I'm a 'trust, but verify' kind of girl.

Indeed, the world is waking up!!!! Hopefully the US will get the memo next. I am so tired of hearing lectures from those who only seem to care about the needs of asylum seekers. Now that more people are becoming affected we begin to see the truth: that nobody, blue, red, black, white or all the colors of the rainbow, wants a deluge of (unvetted) migrants dumped on them.
