Did you notice the news stopped talking about this...?

For the last two years there has more or less only been one thing that the media has been talking about.

And that thing is covid.

Everyday now for two years it has been everywhere. All over the news. The only thing that the media has been focused on. It all started with 15 days to flatten the curve and it has now turned into two years.

During this time, the only thing the media has been focused on is pushing news about covid, day in and day out. It has been the only thing on their minds. Oh, and maybe they have thrown in some talk about climate change as well for good measure!

But that has now all come to a screeching halt. Did you notice it? Suddenly there is barely anything about covid on the news. You might have heard, there is now a major war going on in Europe and that has been the sole focus of the media in the last few days.

Gone is all the talk about covid, now the only thing they are interested in is the war.

The media is very interested in making money. For two years they have been talking about covid, making people turn in to read the latest infection numbers or talk about lockdowns.

Now that the only thing people seem to be thinking about is the war, that is the only thing that the media is talking about.

It was almost like it went from 100 to 0. From non-stop talk about covid, to almost zero talk about covid in the news.

This thing that has been a major crisis for the last two days, suddenly just disappeared from the news cycle. Isn’t that interesting?

It says a lot about the media. They are only interested in clicks and making money, and right now that is the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Are they just going to leave us hanging like this, one day telling everyone to be afraid of covid, then the next suddenly just forget all about it and just talk about Ukraine?

If you remember a few years ago before covid, the only thing the media talked about was Trump. This, that and the other thing about him all day. They were almost obsessed talking about him. Then they switched topics and have been talking non-stop about covid for two years. Now they switched topic again and are only talking about the war.

It’s almost like they are only interested in talking about the things they think gives them more clicks and viewers, and in one sense that is understandable. They all want to make money. Everyone needs to make money, but at least they should be honest about that, which oftentimes they are not.

People are clinging to their screens, looking for the latest information about the war in Ukraine. Now the interesting thing about the war is that a lot of the information going around now is just propaganda – from all sides.

People on one side say one thing, people on another side say another thing. It is very hard to know what is true both on social media, and on traditional news. I have even seen posts from politicians talking about things that turned out not to be true.

It’s called war propaganda.

Everyone is trying to push their narrative of how things are going. That’s why I haven’t reported much on the war, because it’s impossible to know what’s true, and I don’t want to be spreading any false information or war propaganda.

Photos have been posted on social media claiming to be from the war in Ukraine, but they turn out to be old photos from many years ago, so caution needs to be taken when reporting on this.

Regarding the pandemic, all of the restrictions have seemingly started to wind down lately. Country after country has removed restrictions completely, like Sweden, Denmark and Iceland. Other countries like Switzerland and Norway have removed almost all restrictions.

Covid passports are being scrapped in many places and it seemed like after two years, finally things were beginning to return to normal.

Then the war happened and now we have another crisis...

Is it too much to ask to just live a normal life without having to live through historical events every other year now?
