Restrictions quietly being removed…
Ireland and France are just the latest countries to announce easing of restrictions.
While people are seemingly distracted by other things, such as the war in Ukraine, country after country are lifting restrictions, and the media seems to mostly just ignore it. At least it doesn’t make any headline news.
France scrapping use of covid passports.
Just a few days ago, France announced they will be scrapping the use of covid passports to enter venues on the 14th of March. This form of medical discrimination is finally coming to an end, but it is important to remember this should never have happened in the first place.
Weirdly enough, this just so happens to come about 1 month before the French presidential elections…
Also face masks will no longer be needed indoors (except for public transport).
The covid passports in France became very strict, with people being banned from many public areas based on their medical status. Those who are not vaccinated, are not allowed in places like restaurants or cafes among other things.
This caused a lot of protests in France. In fact, there has been protests against covid passports since the summer of 2021. There has been almost 8 months of continuous freedom protests taking place every weekend in France. Hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets, largely ignored by the media.
Now just 1 month before the election they suddenly announce they will be scrapping the use of the covid passports to enter venues. Talk about a perfect timing!
Ireland removing travel restrictions.
But France is not the only country to announce easing in restrictions (besides the Nordic countries that have removed all/most restrictions already).
Now Ireland has just announced they are removing all travel restrictions to the country. No need for vaccination or a negative test to enter.
The Health Minister in Ireland says this move is to help make it easier for Ukrainian refugees to enter the country. Although Norway also removed all travel restrictions earlier.
Some fine holiday destinations this year.
Looks like some countries want to have tourism this year. As I’ve mentioned Norway and Ireland removed all travel restrictions. Switzerland and Sweden have removed travel restrictions from EU/EEA countries. No need for vaccination or negative tests to enter. No covid passports needed.
It remains to be seen if any other countries will be following suit, my guess is that there will be, especially as we begin approaching the summer.
Do they want us to forget the last 2 years?
It all started with Denmark removing all restrictions. Sweden followed. Norway was next. Then Iceland. Also Finland has eased restrictions. Switzerland too. And Portugal.
Country after country in Europe have either removed or eased restrictions in the last month, with barely anyone in the media talking about it.
Are they just now going to quietly remove restrictions without people noticing. Do they want us to forget the last 2 years all of a sudden?
We have now lived with unprecedented restrictions in our lives for almost 2 years. Remember 15 days to flatten the curve? Looks like it only took about 2 years!
Glad to see. Too bad some of us remain prisoners in our own country so travel anywhere is impossible. Although we can now go into a restaurant in Ontario, we still can't board a plane. My college has chosen to keep passports in place until April, so I still can't go into my office. My husband (federal) is still on leave w/o pay. Likewise, my daughter's university is keeping the pass until the end of the semester so she's barred. My friend lives in BC and can't visit her parents in Ontario. O'Canada.
Macron must be removed .Ditto Trudeau , Aherne and the scum bag in Australia.
